Quick overview

Welcome — this short presentation walks you step-by-step through unboxing, authenticating, installing firmware, creating a wallet backup, and connecting to Trezor Suite. The official web start page and device guides are the authoritative source for every step; follow them exactly to keep your funds safe.

Step 1 — Inspect & plug in

When you first open the box, verify packaging and holographic seals for tampering. Do not connect the device if anything looks compromised. After checking the box, plug your Trezor into your computer or phone using the provided cable and open Trezor Suite or the official start page to begin the guided setup.

Step 2 — Install firmware

New devices arrive without firmware installed. The Suite or start flow will prompt you to install the latest firmware — complete this step before creating a wallet. Installing firmware is part of the secure onboarding flow and ensures your device runs code signed by Trezor.

Step 3 — Create wallet backup

During setup you’ll be given a recovery/wallet backup. Write this down on the provided card, store it offline, and never share it. Trezor now uses the term “wallet backup” to emphasize secure, offline storage of your recovery material. This backup is the only way to recover access to funds if the device is lost or damaged — protect it.

Step 4 — Set a PIN & authenticate

Choose a PIN to protect the device from physical access. The PIN is local to the device and never leaves it. During the first connection the Suite will ask you to authenticate the device on the hardware screen — follow the device prompts and confirm authenticity.

Step 5 — Move funds safely

After setup you can receive funds to addresses shown on the device and manage them with Trezor Suite. Always verify receive addresses on the physical device screen and use small test transfers when moving large amounts.

Support & resources

If something goes wrong, use official support channels or device guides — never share your recovery with anyone claiming to be support. Book an expert onboarding session if you want guided help from the Trezor team.
